The board of United Mortgages® are delighted to announce the appointment of Sarina Kiayani as a Non-Executive Director and Policy Advisor, supporting the firm’s ambitious scaling plans, and platform expansion, in the pursuit of streamlining the home buying process. Sarina has an extensive background in housing policy, through her role as Policy and External Affairs Manager at ARCO, the trade body for Integrated Retirement Communities. Beginning her career in communications agencies, working with organisations such as McCarthy Stone to articulate their policy positions to key policymakers.

Having spent 10 years as a campaigner in the Labour Party, Sarina now sits on the Executive Committee of the Labour Housing Group, where they have organised events with the Housing Minister, MPs, metro mayors, and local councillors with a vested interest in housing. Boasting a strong interest in improving housing options for older people through their work at ARCO, while also being passionate about helping more young people onto the housing ladder. As an aspiring first-time buyer, Sarina has spoken about this issue at length in the national media.

What am I passionate about building?

‘Buying a home is one of the biggest decisions someone will ever make in their life, and we’re honoured to be part of every client’s journey. In my role, I am passionate about using social media to make the mortgage process clearer and outline to prospective buyers exactly how the process works.’

Why am I excited to be part of United’s mission?

‘Far too often, getting a mortgage is seen as a scary thing, and one people often have little ideas about. I’ve been messaged countless times about whether I know a good mortgage broker or solicitor, and didn’t really know where to start when looking for one myself. Through our person-centred approach,
United Mortgages® aims to alleviate that stress and be a helping hand through a journey that can be both stressful and overwhelming, and I’m excited about playing a part in this.’
